In the summer of 2015, a string of ex-NS SD40-2s (rebuilt SD40s) appeared in Huntington, traded from NS in exchange for CSXs SD80MACs. As I understand it, they were readied for service before instead being shipped to Boise to be rebuilt into SD40-3s...but I wouldve loved to have seen them running like this! I wish I had documented them better, although the photos will attest that the weather was not cooperating. |
