PRR 6002, EF-25A, 1965
12th Street. Here is an orignal photo that I took of Pennsylvania Railroad locomotives in Altoona, Pennsylvania, during November of 1965. Shown here (L to R) are PRR engine #6002 and another unit whose number is not recorded. #6002 is an EF-25A built by EMD in 1965 and rated at 2,500 horsepower. They are parked at the Altoona Passenger Station, awaiting their next passenger train "helper" assignment up the Allegheny Mountains via the Horseshoe Curve to Gallitzin, where they will uncouple and return to the Station for yet another westbound "helper" assignment.
