CRIP 4432 fan trip
Title:  CRIP 4432 fan trip
Description:  EAST OF WEATHERFORD OK Sept 19 1976 -- Rock Island 4432 crosses over East Main Street just before going under Interstate 40 east of Weatherford OK. The Central Oklahoma Railfan Club fan trip is westbound on its way to Clinton OK from El Reno OK. Oklahoma State Representative and Rock Island engineer xxxxxx was at the controls for this well-attended fan trip. The train was turned in Clinton for its return trip to El Reno. I believe the cars used for this fan trip were “camp cars.” The first car was stenciled “diner car.”

CRIP 4432 fan trip
Title:  CRIP 4432 fan trip
Description:  WEATHERFORD OK Sept 19 1976 -- Rock Island GP7 4432 leads a Central Oklahoma Railfan Club fant trip. The train is sitting in Weatherford while the crew and fans have lunch at a local restaurant. The fan trip started in El Reno and proceedd west to Clinton where lunch was planned and the train was turned. For some reason the lunch was not available so the train proceeded on its return trip to El Reno. Weatherford became a hastily arranged lunch stop. Myself and three other railfans had chased the train as far as Weatherford but stopped for lunch and let the train proceed to Clinton. We were pleasently surprised to see fans entering the restaurant and that the train was parked just outside. The tngineer for this fan trip was Jim Townsend. Jim was an Rock Island Engineer and an Oklahoma State representative. The locomotive and cars used for the trip appeared to be freshly painted.
