Here is a photo via Paul W. Prescott that was taken in East Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 27 April 1957. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #3600, an L-1S (2-8-2) "Mikado" built in Juniata during March of 1917 and retired in August of 1959 after 42 years of faithful service. Built by PRR shops, this L1s class Mikado had 62" drivers and developed 205 psi boiler pressure. Note the fireman filling the tender from a water standpipe before getting underway. The photo creidt is T.M. Flattley Jr.
