Description: |
Two GP39-2s and three GP35s hustle what is probably BN train 694 northbound through Kirk via trackage rights over SP's Cascade sub. Kirk was for about 12 years from 1911-1923 the "end of the line" while various legal complications interfered with completion of the Natron Cutoff. Five different logging railroads interchanged with SP here at one time, and evidence of extensive clear-cutting is still visible on the surrounding landscape. Date of photo approximate. |
