Title:
PRR 2428, AF-25, 1965
Description:
Huntingdon. Here is an original photo that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad train East of Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, during October of 1965. Shown here is PRR engine #2428, an AF-25 built by the American Locomotive Company in 1965 and rated at 2,500 horsepower. Along with two other locomotives, it is pulling an eastbound mixed-cargo freight train down the Juniata River Valley. A long stretch of US Route 22 is visible on the right.

PRR E&M Turntable, 1966
Description:
E&M. Here is an original photo that I took at the Pennsylvania Railroad's Juniata E&M Shop Yard in Altoona, Pennsylvania, during April of 1966. Visible in the foreground is the trusty E&M turntable ~ witness to steam and Diesels alike. Beyond the turntable are the eastern side of the E&M Shop, some of the tracks from the Shop to the turntable, as well as five locomotives built by several different manufacturers ~ including Baldwin, ALCo, EMD, and GE. Two PRR engines are identifiable: #2428 and #2649. #2428 is an AF-25 built by the American Locomotive Company in 1965 and rated at 2,500 horsepower. #2649 is a GF-25 built by General Electric in 1965 and rated at 2,500 horsepower.
