UP 5272 is an C45ACCTE leading an eastbound stack train along the Sunset Route north of Marana. 5272 was built by GE in March of 2006. In May of that year, the unit made an appearance at Franklin Park, Illinois, along with MoPac heritage unit 1982, a CSX ES44DC, an Indiana Harbor Belt Geep, a Belt Railway of Chicago SW1500, Illinois Central E9 101, a CP ES44, a Metra MP36, and an Amtrak P42. Today, 5272 is leading another unusual locomotive; a three-year old SD70AH-T4. These units are essentially SD70ACe units with a Tier 4-compliant EMD 1010 prime mover. |
