A CN through freight traverses the west leg of the wye at the north end of the former SOO yard and approaches the Main St. overpass at Neenah, WI, on 26 Nov. '20. Train had three locomotives, CN 2274, CN 2543, BCOL 4602. First Presbyterian Church, 200 S. Church St., is partially visible above the second locomotive. The clock tower of the once impressive 1888 city hall building, intersection of S. Commercial St. and W. Doty St., looks like a church steeple from this perspective, but it is a block east of the church. Some of Neenah's bland, unimaginative, modern buildings, posing as architecture, stand in the background to the left. I am not a fan of modern architecture, obviously. The Holiday gas station stood somewhere in the foreground before the Main St. overpass was built. |
