Rebuilt Geeps
One of the Morristown & Erie's recent acquisitions awaits work alongside one of NJ Transit's commuter diesels. ME 23 started off life on the ATSF before heading to the northern Maine woods to work the Bangor & Aroostook Railroad. NJT 4212 was built as an EMD demonstrator unit before going to work for Penn Central and later Conrail. Both are rebuilds, 23 by the Santa Fe from a GP-7 and 4212 from a GP40 by Conrail for NJ Transit.
