Union Pacific Railroad B23-7 107 at Norfork, Arkansas on November 15, 1992, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. Number 107 was built as Missouri Pacific 2296 in January 1978 (c/n 41779), and was wrecked at Gorham, Illinois on May 17, 1978 when it rear-ended a stopped Cotton Belt train. It was repaired with an EMD Spartan Cab, the only B23-7 or B30-7A so repaired on the MP. Later renumbered to MP 4706, it became UP 107 on January 22, 1988. It was retired by the UP on April 26, 2005, and on August 1, 2007 became UPY 2678. |
