ARKANSAS CITY KS Sept 25 1979 -- Amtrak SDP40F 512 leads the southbound Lone Star for a station stop and crew change. EMD built the 512 (s/n 72694-12) in June 1973 and delivered it in the phase one bloody nose paint scheme. After only a few years service it was traded back to EMD and most of its internal components were used in construction of F40PHR 373.
