ATSF 3600, first-in-class unit         
PURCELL OK October 1975 -- ATSF GP39-2 3600, GP20 3106 and GP20 3119 lead a southbound mixed freight under the U.S. 77 bridge. EMD built the 3600 (s/n 74602-1) in August 1974 and delivered it in yellow warbonnet. After a time painted in SPSF red and yellow and numbered ATSF 3100 it was returned to yellow warbonnet and renumbered ATSF 3600 before December 1988. It was retired and returned to the lessor in December 1992. The Willamette & Pacific Railroad Co. acquired it in June 1993 and it became WPRR 2301. In 2000 it became Portland & Northwestern 2301. It is painted orange and black and is named Sheridan.
