| Here is page two of a 22-page booklet published by the Pennsylvania Railroad entitled "A Pictorial Review Of Progress On The Pennsylvania." It was issued originally in March of 1953. Partial Caption: "New and repaired freight cars rolling to service." Pictured in the foreground is PRR engine #6816, an M-1 (4-8-2) "Mountain" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works during September of 1926 and retired in June of 1959. Partially visible at the right is PRR engine #9576, a BF-15 constructed by the Baldwin Locomotive Works in March of 1949, rated at 1,500 horsepower, and retired in December of 1963. |
