| Burlington Northern Railroad SD7 6024 at Clyde, Illinois on February 26, 1984, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. Built as CB&Q SD7 301 in May 1953 (c/n 18321) on EMD Order 5242, it became BN 6024 and one source states that it was retired in September 1983. It is stencilled CENTRALIA, perhaps it lingered a bit before being forwarded to Clyde for storage and disposition. I can't be certain, but it's possible that the rear exhaust stack is covered with some white material. |
