David Stewart General Very nice shot & catch I might add. Looks like they have taken the 3033 off of the interchange job. I'll bet it's getting close to leaving town. I won't be coming if that happens. This tells me the B/Y SD40Us are most likely gone now. 10/29/2008 6:28:04 PM
William H. Davis Jr. General Thanks David, The SD40U'S are still in yard service at East Thomas Yard. I saw the yard job today with 2 SW1500'S & the 6315 in trailing position. The 3033 & 8618 will be on the 840 for a while. They usually use the same power for weeks or even months at a time. I heard the Birmingham Sub dispatcher come on the scanner & I heard BNSF 3033 north getting permission to proceed north from Wheatway around Pratt City, so that's why I went out there for the L- 840. I heard that 339 & 345 was in at McCalla for Amtrak 20 so I went on the AGS South District to Vance to wait on the 339 & 345 10/29/2008 6:46:27 PM

Olaf Junges General Excellent shot! 10/30/2008 3:28:18 AM
William H. Davis Jr. General Yeah the timing was perfect. I stopped & got gas & some BBQ at Deermans BBQ & quickly headed for Vance, but as it turned out I had plenty of time, because after Amtrak 20 they had to wait on 2 more northbounds NS 130 & 172, then they headed south. It almost took too long being that it's getting dark sooner this time of year, but it worked out. I needed time to eat my BBQ anyway, which kept me from twiddling my thumbs waiting on the 339 & 345 10/30/2008 3:35:31 AM
