Title:
NKP 4-6-2 #164 - Nickel Plate Road (NYCStL)
Description:
This good looking 4-6-2 Pacific was built by Alco-Brooks in August of 1923 as New York, Chicago & St Louis (Nickel Plate Road) #164. It's always a thrill to me to be able to post a Hoosier connecte train photo like this one. Specs - serial #64631, class K-1b, 73" drivers, 215 psi boiler pressure, 22.5x26" cyldiners, engine weight of 255,320 lb, tractive effort of 32,951 lb. The loco was sold for scrap to the Luntz Iron & Steel Company on 2/14/1953. The photo is from the Howard W. Ameling collection.
