It was published originally in the February 1967 issue of "Railroad Model Craftsman" magazine, page 34. Middle Photo Caption: "May 1964 photo by Tom Smith at Hollidaysburg, Pa., shows half the PRR Centipede fleet. Not one sample of these huge locomotives were saved." #5814 is a BH-50 built by Baldwin as a passenger service 3,000 horsepower BP-60 in September of 1947, later regeared to a helper service 2,500 horsepower BH-50, and retired in April of 1962. |

Photo Caption: "Pennsylvania Railroad 5822-5829 Baldwin Centipede diesels road class BH-50, originally BP-1, swing light around the famous Horseshoe Curve near Altoona, Pa., in the early 1950's in pusher service." #5822 was built in February of 1948, while #5829 was built in December of 1948; both were retired in April of 1962 after just 14 years of revenue service. |
