Album Info:A lot has changed since the UP acquired the SP in 1996. Standardized power has now replaced the numerous EMD tunnel motors that were in charge of " the Hill". Tunnel modifications in 2011 now allow double stack trains to take the shorter more direct route to the east.

Description:  this used to be double track at this location until new owners (D&RG) removed it between switch 9 and shed 10. may re-install second main line back. I have seen a couple of trains stall on this section, which creates a big problem for Donner Pass traffic.
